On Sunday, July 12th we opened the very first library in Uvita! With help from Jacksonville University professor, Dr. Tammy Ryan and her three neices we now have over 500 multilingual children’s books available to our students. This children’s library is run out of Forjando Alas Kids’ Club, and is dedicated to promoting literacy by enabling kids to read at home. We provide training and resources for parents to actively engage young readers. The library is open for Forjando Alas students to check out books on Mondays from 10AM-5PM. Our goal is to add to our adult collection and open the library to the wider community.
