Last Friday we had a wonderful trip to Dutton Island Preserve. Most of the kids had never been there. It was incredibly valuable to see their local habitats firsthand. We hiked through upland pine habitat through the scrub and into the marsh! Kids got to see a beautiful pond, lots of crabs and even an egret! One student said “Wow, I am totally in my element here!”
They all seemed to have a great time ducking under tree limbs and climbing onto the fishing pier. It was a beautiful day in Atlantic Beach!
