This July, five of our premier students will be traveling to Uvita, Costa Rica to make a difference in the lives of children less fortunate. They will visit with and help the kids at Kids’ FUN’s first youth center, Forjando Alas (“building wings”) by creating gardens to teach the kids about healthy eating. We are collaborating with the Uvita Tropical Studies Institute and Bodhi Surf School for 10 days full of adventure, service and learning opportunities. Our COAST FUN Club kids will get to help create long-term waste management facilities at the Marino Ballena National Marine Park (the first ever national marine park in all of Central America), learn about coastal ecology of the south Pacific coast of Costa Rica and even take surf and stand up paddle board lessons. They will participate in every activity alongside local kids who rarely get the opportunity to see the ocean.
What a great opportunity for both cultures to learn new things and share an incredible experience together!
